The first TWSC open day in 2013 is happening on May 6th!

The open day is a fun day that we run a couple of times each summer. It is a fun day designed to bring in new faces to try the facilities as well as providing a very social day for members past, present and future to meet.

The main incentive is that we reduce the price of all guest tickets to the same price as member tickets for the whole day. So you can come and pay £10 for as many sets as you can fit in!

In order to make the day a lot of fun you can expect lots of benefits:

£10 per 10 minute tow

Instruction & dry land lessons available

If you become a member of TWSC on an Open Day you will receive 5 free tow tickets per membership as soon as you’ve paid the full year!

BBQ lit all day so bring your own food to cook

Kneeboarding

Inflatables

So there’s a lot to look forward to. Even if you just want to come down and have a look at the facilities then you are more than welcome, we look forward to seeing you!

The AGM is the best forum for discussion throughtout the year. It is usually an excellent and well-attended evening. If you have questions, issues or suggestions then the AGM is the best place to air them with the wider group. It is all gratefully received.

There will also be a chairman’s report covering the main decisions of 2012, the financials and the business plan for 2013 and beyond.

All present and future members welcome. If youre thinking of joining TWSC in 2013 then come down and meet the team!

Project Update

Following the recent EGM the committee undertook to update the membership on progress with projects we are undertaking, this will provide you with information on progress and also give you an opportunity to participate in the project by volunteering to take on tasks and have your say on various issues as they emerge. The committee will endeavour to take on board all ideas and opinions however final decisions about the project will be down to the elected committee and due process.

Clubhouse

We are currently working on the following key tasks which are the major preliminary tasks for the project

Landlord permission – Club is seeking permission to install the new clubhouse and amend the lease to reflect this change, extend the lease on the lake and requesting that the overgrowth along the access lane be cut back.

Obtaining quotes for the shell build – 4 companies have been approached to quote

Obtaining quotes for services – electricity and water

Preparations for planning application

Planning of existing cabin move/site clearance and next seasons operations

Planning of internal fit out – Input/ideas required

Jump

Examination of the jump has shown that the repairs will require removal of the jump to the shore for further assessment and a decision on the next steps. A working party needs to be organised to achieve this task safely and before the onset of winter – volunteers required

Communications

We are trying our best to ensure that the membership is kept updated, however if you have any specific issues or ideas you wish to discuss please contact Andy (chairman) or Bob (deputy chairman) directly or alternatively any member of the committee.

That’s right … over 50 people from around the Berkshire area and beyond came down to TWSC for our open day. A miserable and rainy day didn’t stop everyone getting into the club wetsuits and having a go.

The BBQ was on all day, gazebos kept us dry when not in the water and we were visited by people of all standards. Many beginners had their first go and a few talented individuals came down and landed some new tricks.

All in all a very successful day – thanks to everyone for making it so much fun.
